Plot Summary of Black Widow

In the year 1995, Russian Undercover agents Black Widow Melina Vostokoff and Alexei Shostakov disguise to be a family along with Natasha and Yelena for a mission to loot away and Intel from the S.H.I.E.L.D (fictional espionage). Once the mission was completed, they all part ways to Cuba whereas Natasha and Yelena were taken to the Red Room for training.

Post-civil war events start with Natasha escaping to a safe house in Norway which was provided by Rick mason. While Yelena sent her antidote vials hoping that she would free the other widows. Unfortunately, she was attacked by the taskmaster while driving with the vials and manages only to escape from him.

Later on, Natasha meets Yelena in Budapest. Natasha finally destroys the red room along with Dreykov and his daughter which made her guilty for the rest of her life. Also, she discovers the resurgence of the red room so she reunites with Alexei, Melina and Yelena to work and destroyed the red room completely.

Who is Yelena Belova?

Yelena Belova was the adoptive sister of Natasha Romanoff the real name of black widow. She first appeared in the Marvel series “Inhumans”. She was trained in the red room Academy where her physical test scores were top notch. She was chosen as a candidate to set off a new black widow. Yelena Belova was eagerly waiting to prove herself better than Natasha Romanoff to attend the sole claim of the title black widow.

On her insistence, she was sent from the red room by Yuri Stalyenko to shadow Natasha Romanoff who was off to ensure that the Deathless Frenzy ended up in the Russian hands, by the United States and the Russian governments. She was the only red room recruit to replace after Black Widow. Teenage Yelena Belova has trained for espionage and other combat tactics.

What happens to Yelena Belova in Hawkeye? 

In episode 5 of Hawkeye, Yelena with her fellow black widow goes on a mission to free another fellow Black Widow who is under mind control. As she uses the antidote to free her from mind control she results with disappointment with the woman being unaffected. In a split second, Yelena uses a breather in the bathroom to be snapped out of existence.

Later the viewers realised that the scenario happening at that very moment is synced at the same time as the Avengers fighting Thanos. This brought in some good clarity to the viewers on where she fits into the “Hawkeye“. Yelena Belova is just another contract killer for Valentina.
